Indoor pool for an upscale residence
A covered pool edged in timber, on the garden level of a residence in Bordeaux.
Overview
Indoor infinity-edge pool with a pale timber deck and recessed ceiling lighting.
The project
On the garden level of an upscale residence, a covered pool extends the communal areas. Timber decks, windows onto the garden and deep blue water make it a place of calm, open to residents all year round.
The constraints
In an occupied building two issues always come back: equipment noise, which travels through the structure, and humidity, which reaches the cold areas as soon as air treatment is too tight.
What we did
The pool, its hydraulics and its plant room were designed as one whole, decoupled from the building and sized for continuous operation. Dehumidification was calculated on the water surface, and the timber decks sit on a ventilated frame.
